Oil-injected screw air compressors are widely used in all walks of life due to their many advantages such as low vibration, low noise, high efficiency, few wearing parts, convenient maintenance and management.
However, if the management is neglected and no exact judgment is made on the operation of the air compressor, it may cause a large number of problems with the screw air compressor, which will cause the air compressor to fail to operate and use normally. The common faults are mainly as follows:
Exhaust temperature is too high
Under normal circumstances, the exhaust temperature of an oil-injected screw air compressor should be between 75 and 95°C. If the exhaust temperature is too low and lower than the pressure dew point, more water will appear in the system. The air compressor oil is emulsified, affecting the lubrication effect and even causing damage to the main engine.
Excessive exhaust temperature is also not allowed. If the exhaust temperature is too high, it will cause damage to many components of the equipment. If the situation is serious, it will even burn the host. Therefore, the screw air compressor is equipped with high temperature protection, and it will automatically stop when the exhaust temperature exceeds 100°C.
The reasons for the high exhaust temperature are mostly related to the abnormality of the air compressor oil, the cooling system and the sensor. For example, the air compressor oil of the system is reduced or deteriorated, the heat exchange effect of the cooler is not good, and the sensor is abnormal. The exhaust temperature of the compressor is too high.
2. Increased air compressor oil consumption
The increase in fuel consumption of air compressors will invisibly increase the management and maintenance costs of air compressors, so it should also be paid attention to. The main reasons for the increase in fuel consumption are as follows:
Oil level is too high
If the air compressor oil is too much, the oil and gas discharged from the air compressor head cannot be completely separated, and part of the air compressor oil will flow out with the gas, which will increase fuel consumption. Therefore, you should pay attention to it at ordinary times, avoid adding too much air compressor oil during excessive maintenance, as long as it is maintained within a reasonable range.
Oil and gas separator failure
If the oil separator fails or fails. The oil and gas cannot be sufficiently separated, which causes the exhaust of the air compressor to take away part of the air compressor oil, which increases fuel consumption. Therefore, always observe the pressure difference of the oil and gas separator, and replace it in time if there is a problem.
Oil return pipe failure
The function of the oil return pipe is to return the air compressor oil deposited at the bottom of the oil and gas separator to the air compressor head. If it is blocked, it will also cause this part of the air compressor oil to be carried out by the exhaust gas and increase fuel consumption.
Oil shutoff valve failure
The oil cut-off valve is located between the head of the main engine and the oil-gas separation cylinder. If it fails, it cannot be closed in time when the air compressor is out of operation. It will cause the air compressor oil in the oil-gas separator cylinder to return to the main engine, and then from the suction The air compressor sprays out from the filter, causing a large amount of air compressor oil to leak out. Therefore, when the air compressor is out of service, pay attention to observe the filter at the suction port. If it is abnormal, check and repair it in time.
In addition, always pay attention to the leakage of the pipeline in order to find out and solve it in time.
3. The oil quality of the air compressor has deteriorated
The oil quality of the air compressor oil has a direct impact on the operating conditions of the screw air compressor, so sufficient attention should be paid. The reason for the deterioration of the oil quality may be due to the poor operating environment of the air compressor, more dust, and air After the compressor is sucked in, the deterioration of the air compressor oil is accelerated. On the other hand, if the operating temperature of the air compressor is too high, it will also accelerate the oxidative deterioration of the oil, and if the operating temperature is low, it will easily cause the air compressor oil to emulsify. Therefore, the suction port of the air compressor should be placed in a clean place as much as possible, while for the air compressor oil, it should be replaced regularly, and it should not be mixed with different brands of oil.
4. Cooling system failure
Coolers can be divided into air-cooled models and water-cooled models.
The air-cooled type relies on an axial fan to blow the radiating fins of the cooler. If the radiating fins are dirty, the cold air blown by the axial fan will not pass smoothly, and the expected cooling effect will not be achieved and high temperature will be caused. In addition, if the external environment temperature is too high, exceeding 40 degrees, the heat dissipation effect is also extremely poor.
The water-cooled type is generally due to poor water quality, which causes the cooler to foul, which makes the heat exchange effect worse. If conditions permit, you can add a softener to the cooling water, or use a pure water system to prevent scaling of the cooling water. In addition, if the inlet temperature of the cooling water is too high, it will also affect the heat exchange effect.
In short, as long as we strengthen the observation and management of the air compressor and perform maintenance on time, we can ensure the normal operation of the air compressor and provide a strong guarantee for the production of the enterprise.
